I just spoke to friends who had returned from a Canadian adventure - part of which included spending time whale watching. They commented about how the skipper of their boat was constantly at watch to keep the proper distance from the whales to allow them freedom of movement while still allowing his guests to observe these magnificent creatures.
The balance of observation and education with encroachment on the habitat and space needed by our wild creatures is a constant effort - but one that is extremely rewarding.
